Happy New Decade! I am so thankful for all of the incredible blessings in my life for the past ten years. I was blessed with two happy, healthy children, celebrated (almost) 15 years of wedded bliss :), the opportunity to stay home with my littles... and the opportunity to start this lil’ biz in between ‘mom’ing moments. That’s a decade that is hard to beat, but I know this next one will be even better. To kick off the new year, I want to share with you one of my favorite projects I recently wrapped up. For those of you who have been faithful followers (and cheerleaders… thank you!), you may remember the living room I designed for the Georgelos family.
The ‘Domino Effect’ is real in interior design, and I’m so thankful it is because it keeps me in business! Once one room in your house is looking extra beautiful, the other rooms in your house start begging for a makeover as well. That was the case with these crazy awesome clients. We finished their living room and then their kitchen needed some love.
After we wrapped up the kitchen, we headed to their master suite to decorate both the master bedroom and bath. They had remodeled their home several years ago so we already had a gorgeous starting point. All I needed to do was add the finishing touches. These clients love a crisp, clean look as much as I do, and nothing says clean and crisp like white bedding - so that’s where we began. A few custom throw pillows added some subtle color and texture to the bed and the dark area rug helped to make the whole bed pop. I chose some chunky lamps to help fill the space since we were keeping the wall decor above the bed simple. The jute rope on the mirror helped to add a natural element to that side of the room as well.
My clients are readers and wanted the sitting area to be just as functional as it was pretty, so we opted to fill the space with a comfy loveseat. The other big request for this room is that they wanted to be surrounded by pics of their beautiful family. I designed a small gallery using a picture ledge and one of my favorite tricks… hanging some of the pics on the wall instead of only putting frames on the ledge. This adds more height, another layer of dimension, and frees up some space to add other accessories. I love how this little reading nook turned out.
Last, but not least, is their master bathroom. As I mentioned before, they had already picked out some gorgeous finishes during their remodel and this free-standing bathtub is my absolute fave! I love how it is the focal point of the space and when the double doors are open, it is also a focal point from the bedroom. This bathroom just needed some classy accessories to bring it to life. So pretty.
That just about wraps up the Georgelos home tour. This house is easily one of my favorites I’ve ever had the pleasure to work on and so are these clients! If you like what you see, I’d love to chat about what I can do to BRING STYLE HOME for you, too! Let’s get in touch… CLICK HERE!
Here are a couple before and afters… because they’re always my fave. :)
