The Wesorick Project Reveal

I am so excited to finally be sharing this gem of a project with you! This was a complete main floor refresh - meaning we didn’t knock down any walls. We worked with the space we had but managed to transform it into a home that feels fresh and updated. One of our least favorite trends of the 2000s was the built-in niches that new home builders put everywhere, so that topped our priority list. Custom millwork is intimidating for some clients, but these clients were all for it. Their fireplace wall is the focal point of their entire main floor, so it was really important that it matched the style of their new furnishings. We added some vertical shiplap for texture and a beautiful shade of bluish green to make the whole area pop. We updated the shelving and accessories, and this became the focal point this main floor deserved!

The kitchen also needed some love, so we replaced the table and chairs and added some updated window coverings… and my new favorite light fixture! I love this modern take on a drum light. These rounded archways look beautiful with the modern lines of the new furniture and allow us to peek at the sofa table. Lighting the back corner of a sectional gets a little tricky, so this sofa table gave us space to add table lamps. They provide light and some height to this space.

We added more architectural detail to the dining room as well with some navy shiplap on the ceiling! It is everything! It allowed us to keep the same light color on the walls to make the main floor flow, but served as the perfect spot to contain some color and texture. Add an amazing light fixture, and now looking up is just as much fun as looking down! We were inspired by the texture on the sideboard, and that guided the rest of our furniture picks. We kept the accessories to a minimum because the furniture pieces stood on their own.

The entryway and staircase got some love, too. We wanted to add a gallery wall, so we opted to do it up the stairs. We accented the wall with the same navy as the dining room ceiling, and found some fun lantern light fixtures to complete the space.

I did my best to capture their powder room as well because it is totally photograph worthy! We shiplapped the back wall and painted it THE most beautiful shade of green. The combination of the wood mirror against that dark wall makes me really happy. And so do those textural art pieces!

That wraps up the reveal of this beautiful main floor. We get spoiled when we land projects like this. Designing an entire main floor that looks and feels cohesive is so rewarding - both designing it and living in it. These clients spoke our language - same aesthetic, same communication style, and same organization OCD. They were just SO wonderful to work with. We were spoiled in every way with this project, and for that, we are grateful.
