What We're Loving This Summer

Coastal Blues // Wood Accents & Warm Tones // Fresh Blooms

Ahh… sweet summertime. While we’re busy enjoying the extra dose of sunshine these months—in between client meetings and install days—we wanted to share a few of our interior design favorites this summer. From coastal blues, wood accents and warm tones, to fresh blooms that help put the finishing touch on a room— we’ve rounded up summery samples from our past projects and some ideas for your shopping list to help spruce up your space this season.

Here’s what we’re loving at basil + tate this summer…

  1. Coastal Blues

You can’t go wrong by incorporating classic coastal blue hues with accent pillows, knit throw blankets, or a patterned rug for summer. Blue styling accents are a favorite of ours all year round, but these pieces especially pop in the summer and contrast well against both neutral colors and warm tones within a space.

2. Wood Accents & Warm Tones

Wood accents and warm tones help make a space feel inviting and give a house that homey-feel. This feeling can be achieved by installing custom hardwood flooring, or more simply through interior styling touches — like a well-placed wood-tone mirror, woven basket or layering rug.

3. Fresh Blooms

Fresh from the farmers’ market florals add a perfect finishing touch to just about any room in a home. And if fresh florals aren’t your thing? Simple faux greenery will work in a pinch and achieve a similar result that brings summery vibes indoors. Select faux florals that are in season this time of year to really maximize the affect! Our team loves using a timeless glass or white ceramic vase to display floral bouquets.
